Boson boson scattering at LHC
We analyse some features of WW scattering processes at LHC. The severe cancellations between fusion diagrams and the other contributions evidence the necessity of complete calculations for studying the high WW invariant mass region and disentangling the standard Higgs case from new physics.
متن کاملReflective Elastic Scattering at LHC
We discuss effects of reflective scattering for hadron and heavy nuclei collisions at the LHC and asymptotical energies. It is shown that the reflective scattering might lead to decreasing matter density with energy beyond the LHC energies. Limiting form of energy dependence of hadron density is obtained. Unitarity upper bound for the absolute value of the real part of elastic scattering amplit...
متن کاملHELICITY AND PLANAR AMPLITUDES IN PION-PROTON SCATTERING AT 6.0 GeV/c
In addition to optimal conditions, invariant laws of Lorentz, parity and time reversal are imposed to find the relation between observables (spin rotation parameters) and bilinear combination of helicity amplitudes in pion-proton elastic scattering at 6.0 GeV/c. By normalizing the differential cross-section to unity, the magnitudes of helicity amplitudes and the angle between them are dete...
متن کاملQuark scattering amplitudes at strong coupling
Following Alday and Maldacena [1], we describe a string theory method to compute the strong coupling behavior of the scattering amplitudes of quarks and gluons in planar N = 2 super Yang-Mills theory in the probe approximation. Explicit predictions for these quantities can be constructed using the all-orders planar gluon scattering amplitudes of N = 4 super Yang-Mills due to Bern, Dixon and Smi...
متن کاملScattering amplitudes at multi TeV energies
We show that a generalized Regge behaviour, Im F (s, t) ≃ Φ(t)(log s/ˆ s) ν(t) (s/ˆ s) α P (t) , for |t| < |t0|, s → ∞ where Φ(t) ≃ e bt , αP (t) ≃ αP (0) + α ′ P (0)t, and t0 is the first zero of αP (t), αP (t0) = 0, implies that the corresponding cross section is bounded by σtot(s) < (Const.) × log s/ˆ s. This growth, however, is not sufficient to fit the experimental cross sections. If, inst...
